In New Iberia, Louisiana, 1949, BUNK JOHNSON, Inveterate Liar, Drunk, Musical Genius, and legendary Historian of JAZZ is back on top, and now that he once again stands poised to take his rightful place as a world-famous Jazz cat, he's throwing a party at the Big House, The Shadows, where he used to be the "yardman," except his common-law, ever-trying-to-be-faithful wife Maud is refusing to set foot in the place where her family used to be slaves and just wants to go home, but where is home for the wanderer?
